CHURCH OFFICE SECRETARY POSITION

High Street Uniting has a vacancy for a Church Office Secretary. This is a part-time position, 21 hours per week, Tuesday to Friday. More details from the Minister, Rev Dr Robert Johnson, 9783 3400. Position Description can be downloaded from this website by clicking HERE,

ADULT GROUP

The Adult Group meets on the 1st Saturday of the month at 7.45pm in the church lounge. Contact Marlene on 9781 5351.

AMITIE (French for Friendship & Kindness) CRAFT GROUP

Meets on the 2nd Thursday in the month from 2.00pm to 4.00pm. Contact Patti on 9766 2253.

CHAOS

Chaos is a social group for young families, couples and singles. We meet each month for BBQs, mystery tours, games nights and lots of other fun activities.

CHILDREN IN WORSHIP - Kids on Sunday

We encourage all children and young people to take an active part in our contemporary worship and the service is designed to be accessible to all ages although we do have special small group teaching suitable for different aged children on some Sundays, we are working towards true integration of the generatins within the whole service in a relaxed social environment with other children.

CHURCH CAMPS

It has become a tradition for some of our Church families to go away camping together at Easter. This is a time to enjoy outdoor pursuits, spend time with each other round the campfire, relax and worship together.

COMMUNITY BREAKFAST

Provide a hot breakfast to approximately 35 needy people every morning except Sunday. Our church provides financial assistance to this program run at St. Paul's Anglican Church, as well as people to assist with the breakfast. Contact Bob on 9783 6974.

EMPTY CHRISTMAS TREE

Every year for four weeks before Christmas, we collect gifts for children, these gifts are then hung on our "Empty Christmas Tree" in the church foyer. These gifts are then distributed to the needy families of Frankston by the Frankston Community and Information Support Centre.

FRUIT SALAD YOUTH GROUP

We meet on the 1st and 3rd Fridays of the month from 7.00pm - 9.30pm.Contact Peter on 0431 450 615.

LADIES FRIENDLY CIRCLE

We meet on the 4th Wednesday of each month at 1.30pm in the church lounge. Contact Elaine on 9776 7867.

HOT MOSS

For young adults 18+ who meet regularly for social activities. Contact Sherryn on

L.E.G.S

LEGS (Ladies Evening Group) is a social group for women which meets on the 1st Monday of the month from 7.30pm usually in the Blue room at the Church. Contact Marg on 8790 2216.

LYFE (Loud Young Family Evenings)

Is a group for young families to spend time together where the parents can relax while the kids enjoy each others company. We meet every 4th Sunday @ 5:00pm and share a meal. We take in turns to meet at each others backyards and one day may venture further a field. For more information please contact Paul & Angie Mathews on 03 9783 7760.

MENS GROUP

We meet every Thursday between 10am and 11am. Lots of fun, discussion and controversy 

(We are not "grumpy old men"!!)

MISSION GUILD

We meet on the 3rd Thursday of each month at 1.45pm in the church lounge. Contact Audrey on 9781 2546.

MONTHLY SHARED DINNER

We meet at 6.30pm on the 3rd Saturday of the month at various private homes.

MUSIC

Music is an important part of all services and we are always pleased to hear from people who can sing or play an instrument.

You may like to join one of the Contemporary Service bands or be part of a group for a special musical item i.e. Christmas or Easter Services.

NCYC.

Every 2 years the Uniting Church in Australia holds a major event for young people called the National Christian Youth Convention (NCYC).  In 2007 NCYC was held in Perth and over 1000 people attended. It is an unforgettable experience for anyone who attends. In Frankston we fund raise to help local young people attend NCYC.

OPEN - CAFE WORSHIP

It is a cafe style worship time which has been set up on every Second & Fourth Sunday evenings in our Foyer here at High Street from 7pm onwards. It's a little bit different, a little bit casual, a space open to all to enjoy the company of other Christians and dig a little bit deeper into our faith and beliefs.

OPERATION LARDER

This co-op supplies food parcels and baby bundles throughout the community. Donations of food are always welcome and volunteers pack the food parcels each Monday morning. Contact Monica on 9783 6253.

PWK GROUP - PARENTS WITH KIDS

An informal group of parents with babies and preschool children meet at the church on Tuesday mornings from 09.30am - 11.30am during school terms to chat and play together. We welcome Mums, Dads, Grandparents and all carers of small children to come along and join us. PRAYER CHAIN

A network of people who pray each day , both for the mission and ministry of the church, and for the specific needs of people in our community. Contact Betty on 9766 5413.

SHOWBIZ

We are an entertaining group from within the church who go to entertain older folk in nursing homes and hostels. We also participate in other social functions bringing a spark of fun and fellowship to people's lives. We rehearse on Monday evenings at 4.00pm at the church.

It is important to us that everyone is able to participate in worship in a way that is meaningful and comfortable for them. We encourage people of all ages and abilities to be involved in worship because true worship comes from the heart. Contact the Church for more information.

SOMERS CAMP

Each year during the July school holidays the Presbytery of Port Phillip East holds a 5 day camp for children aged 9 to 16. Over 100 children and 40 leaders are involved in this camp, for more information please visit their website www.somerscamp.com.au

STUDY GROUPS

A number of people meet regularly in groups in members homes to read the Bible, discuss issues and discover our faith. There are day and evening groups as well as short term groups which run during the year. A regular Tuesday morning group meets at the church at 10.30am.

TAPE MINISTRY

If you are unable to make it to worship on Sunday, casette tape recordings of worship are available. Plans to be able to offer electronic versions downloadable from our website are being considered for 2008.

WALKING GROUP "WALKIE TALKIES"

The Walking group meets for 1.5 hours every Tuesday & Thursdays at 8.30am at various locations, on the 4th Saturday of every month the group meets for Breakfast followed by an hour's walk. Please contact Ley McIntosh on Tel: 59 786 391 for further details.

WITH LOVE TO THE WORLD - NOTES

Very helpful daily Bible study notes that can be read at home. They cost $16.00 a year.

WORSHIP COMMITEES

The Contemporary and "Revival" services are planned by worship committees. All services involve people in prayer and bible readings, music and drama. If you would like to contribute,  please contact one of the ministerial team. The Traditional Service has a choir which plays a significant part in leading worship.  Practice is every Thursday evening at 7.30pm. New members are always welcome.
